Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. Introduction

1.1 Purpose of this policy

This Privacy Statement ("Privacy Statement") explains how Detox SARL ("Corporation", "us", "our" and "we") uses your information. It applies to everyone who uses our mobile application, Detox (the "App"). This Privacy Statement is part of our Terms and Conditions, which also apply when you use the App.

1.2 Agreement to these terms

By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree with the practices it describes, please do not give us your personal information or interact with the App.

1.3 Changes to this policy

We may change this Privacy Statement at any time. If we make a material change, we will tell you before it takes effect, by email (sent to the email address in your account) or by a notice in the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

1.4 Children

The App is not meant for anyone who has not reached the age of majority in the state or province where they live, and such use is prohibited. We will promptly delete the information linked to an account as soon as we know it belongs to a registered user below the age of majority.

2. Information we collect

This Privacy Statement does not apply to information collected in any other way than those listed above.

2.2 Your choices

We think you benefit from a more personal experience when we know more about you and what you like. You can still limit the information you give us through Detox, and you can limit the messages we send you (see section 4). You can manage how your phone shares certain Device Data with Detox in your phone's privacy and security settings. Your mobile service provider or the maker of your device explains how to change them.

3. How we use and share information

3.1 What we do with the information we collect

We (or our Vendors on our behalf) use the information described in this Privacy Statement to:

  • Operate, maintain and improve the App, our services and Other Programs
  • Show you interest-based ads and offers for products and services from us and participating Business Partners

  • Run analytics and customer research

  • Send you reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, support and administrative messages, service bulletins, marketing messages and information you asked for, including on behalf of Business Partners
  • Send you emails about your subscription, such as your trial terms, reminders before a trial ends or a yearly plan renews, and notices about charges (see section 4)
  • Run our everyday business, such as administering the App, forum management, fulfilment, analytics, fraud prevention, meeting our corporate reporting obligations, enforcing our Terms and Conditions, and complying with the law
  • Add to other information we have about you, directly or from Other Sources, to understand you better and learn what interests you

We may also use the information described in this Privacy Statement with your consent, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

3.2 When we share information

a. Information that identifies you. We may share your personal information as required or permitted by law:

  • With any affiliate of the Corporation, which may only use it for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement
  • With our Vendors, who provide services for us and must protect your personal information (see section 5)

  • With a buyer of the Corporation or of any of its Affiliates (or of their assets)
  • To comply with legal orders and government requests, or as needed for auditing, compliance and corporate governance
  • To fight fraud or criminal activity, to protect our rights or those of our Affiliates, users and Business Partners, or as part of legal proceedings involving the Corporation
  • In response to a subpoena or similar legal process, including to law enforcement agencies, regulators and courts in the United States and other countries where we operate
  • With your consent

We encourage Business Partners to adopt and publish privacy policies. Their use of personal information obtained through Detox is governed by their own privacy policies and is not under our control.

b. Information that does not identify you. We may also share information that does not identify you:

  • For the same reasons we might share personal information
  • With Business Partners for their own analysis and research

3.3 How we collect information

a. Personal information. You give us personal information when you register, subscribe, create an account, make a purchase, or otherwise share it while using the App and Other Programs. We also collect personal information when you contact us for customer service or other support, for example by email, by text, through the in-app chat, or by posting in an Online Community.

We also receive personal information and other online and offline information from Other Sources. We use it in line with applicable law. When we combine it with personal information collected under this Privacy Statement, we handle it under this Privacy Statement.

We also use cookies, tags, web beacons, local shared objects, files, tools and programs to keep records, store your preferences, improve our advertising, and collect information that does not identify you, including Device Data and how you interact with the App and our Business Partners' web apps.

b. Device Data. Device Data may be collected when your device interacts with the App, even if you are not signed in. If you have questions about your device's security and privacy settings, your mobile service provider or the maker of your device explains how to change them.

3.4 Accessing and correcting your information

You can access, update and delete the personal information you gave us by managing it in your Detox account. If you want to deactivate your Detox account, or have other questions or requests, please contact us (see section 7).

We are happy to help you manage your subscriptions, deactivate your account and remove your active profile, but we cannot always delete records of past interactions and transactions. We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you our services, and to keep a record of your transactions for financial reporting.

If you want to deactivate your account, or want us to stop using your personal information to provide you our services, contact us. We keep and use your personal information as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

3.5 Sign in and social networks

You may sign in to the App with certain accounts from other services, such as Sign in with Apple. To manage what personal information those services share with us, see the privacy policy and settings of that service. With Sign in with Apple, Apple may give us your real email address or a private relay address that forwards to it ("Hide My Email"), depending on what you choose.

You can also link social networks, such as Facebook, to your Detox account. Once you register with Detox and connect a social network, you can post recent Detox activity to it automatically. You can turn social network connections on and off in the "Connections" tab of your Detox account.

By taking any of the steps above, you allow the Corporation to access every part of your social network profile that you have made available to share, and to use it in line with that social network's terms of use and this Privacy Statement.

4. Emails we send you

4.1 Which email address we use

We email the address linked to your Detox account: the one Sign in with Apple gives us (which may be an Apple private relay address), or the one you type in the App. It is stored with your account in our database. If you buy Detox on our website, we also use the email address you give at checkout to send your purchase details.

4.2 Emails about your subscription

When you subscribe through the App Store, Apple tells us about your subscription: whether you are in a free trial, your plan, its price and currency, its dates, whether it will renew, and any charge, failed payment, cancellation or refund. We use this, together with your App Store country, your device language and your time zone, to send you accurate emails about your subscription, in your language and at a sensible local time.

Always sent, because they are about money leaving your account and are part of providing your subscription (in some countries the law requires them):

  • Your trial terms when a free trial starts
  • A reminder before a free trial ends
  • A confirmation of your first charge
  • A reminder before a yearly plan renews
  • A notice if a payment fails

Optional, and you can turn each one off:

  • Receipts for yearly renewals and plan changes
  • Receipts for monthly renewals (off unless you turn them on)
  • Confirmations when you cancel or get a refund
  • A reminder before your plan ends, if you turned auto-renew off. This one asks whether you want to keep Detox, so it may encourage you to stay. We send it because you are already a Detox customer, and you can turn it off in one step from any of these emails.

These emails may include short tips on using Detox. They never contain offers, discounts or advertising for other companies.

4.3 Who sends them

We send these emails through Resend, our email provider, from the addresses [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. Resend handles your email address and the content of each email to deliver it, and may store data in the United States. Resend tells us whether each email was delivered, bounced, or reported as spam. If an email bounces for good, or you report one as spam, we stop sending to that address.

If you reply to one of these emails, your reply reaches our support team in Crisp, our customer support tool.

4.4 What we learn from them

We do not track whether you open our emails: there are no tracking pixels. Links in billing emails go through our own website (detox.so/e/...), which records which link of which email was tapped, when, and the type of browser that opened it, then sends you on to the page. We do not store your IP address or set a cookie when you tap a link. We use these records to learn whether our emails help, and we delete them after 13 months.

4.5 How to manage or stop them

  • Optional emails: every billing email has a link at the bottom to your email settings page, where you can turn each optional email off, or all of them at once. You can also use the unsubscribe button your mail app shows on these emails.
  • Always-sent emails: they stop when your subscription ends. To stop them, cancel your subscription in your Apple subscriptions (Settings, your name, Subscriptions).
  • Other emails from Detox, such as news about the App, carry their own unsubscribe link.

For any other request about your emails or your address, contact us (see section 7).

5. Vendors we use

Our Vendors process information on our behalf to run the App, the website and our business. Today they include:

6. Third parties

This Privacy Statement only covers how the Corporation uses and shares information through your interaction with the App. Other apps or websites you can reach through links from the App and Other Programs may have their own privacy statements and their own ways of collecting, using and sharing personal information. Our Business Partners may also have their own privacy statements. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these other parties before you give them information or take up a sponsored offer or promotion.

7. Contact and updates

7.1 Contacting us

If you have any questions about this Policy or our data practices, or if you would like us to access, correct or delete your personal information, the fastest way to reach us is through in-app support, where we can see your account and respond quickly.

In the App: open Settings and tap "Chat with us" (under "Something else?").

If you no longer have the App installed or cannot reach the in-app chat, contact our support team at detox.so/support. We respond to verified data requests within the period required by applicable law (within one month under the GDPR).

7.2 Updates and changes

We may add to, change, update or modify this Policy at any time. If there is a material change, we will tell you by email, by a notice in the App, or as otherwise required by applicable law. We encourage you to review this Policy from time to time to stay informed about how we use and protect your information and about any changes.

Any change takes effect as soon as it is posted in the App. It is your responsibility to review this Policy from time to time to make sure you still agree with all of its terms.
